Welcome 2024-25SY

August 21, 2024

Dear William Dick Parents/Guardians,

Welcome back scholars and families to another successful school year! I am excited to embark upon year two with all of you to continue this work of providing a high-quality, equitable education where students can dare to be anything they imagine and have the skills and competencies to accomplish their goals to be positive contributors to society. We will THRIVE in 2025!

School begins on August 26th and scholars are expected to be at school no later than 8:55 AM to be ready to enter the building at 9:00 AM. If you choose the scholars could report to school at 8:30 AM for breakfast. The school day ends at 3:39 PM. Please meet your child promptly in the schoolyard.

Scholars are to come dressed in school uniform colors, grades K-5 yellow or gold plain with black pants, and grades 6-8 all black or any combination of Khaki and black. All clothing should be solid colors with no writing except for the school’s name and logo. All students must wear closed shoes for safety: no slides, crocs, open-toed sandals, or flip-flops. Failure to wear the school uniform is a violation of our expectations of being Ready for school and will result in parent being called immediately to bring up proper attire.

Also, Cell phones are prohibited inside of the Anna Pratt campus. Students who travel to school with cell phones must turn them off and secure them in a non-visible space. Failure to adhere to these expectations will result in loss of privileges, collection of cellphone upon arrival at school up to parent meeting.

I look forward to a positive productive school year as we create a safe learning environment where children dare to dream to be whatever their heart desires and accomplish William Dick’s vision and mission: At William Dick, through exploration and critical thinking, we will inspire students to integrate academic excellence, the arts, and social responsibility to prosper as contributing members of society.
