Attendance/Lateness:
Every child needs to come to school on time, every day. It matters, as early as kindergarten. By middle and high school, poor attendance is a leading indicator of dropout. Developing the habit of attendance prepares students for success on the job and in life.
Excused and unexcused absences add up fast – and equal academic problems. Students are at risk academically if they miss 18 days or 10% of the school year. Even sporadic absences matter. Just one or two days a month can add up to a chronic problem that affects a student’s success in the present and the future.
An absence note is to come into school every time a child misses a day of school. A doctor’s note is mandatory if three or more consecutive days are missed.
Lateness counts as well. Our school day begins promptly at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:39 PM. Please drop off and pick up students with punctuality.
School Uniform:
Grades K-5: gold or yellow shirt, black pants.
Grades 6-8: any combination of khaki and black shirts and pants.
As of 1/5/24, Grades 6-8 students may wear ALL black. However, no other color should be present on their clothing if wearing all black.
